village energy india.

The Edit Suite‘s Director Josh was tasked to direct a video with legendary cricketer Adam Gilchrist for a couple of days in a small village in India. The shoot was a promo film for Village Energy, a start-up based out of Perth WA. Village Energy builds thriving communities by using advanced technology to help grid operators improve the reliability and affordability of providing energy to consumers. Every stop we made we were mobbed by several hundred fanatical cricket fans.

Gilly also did a lot of press conferences.

While the fans kept following him around town.

Pagidiroy is a small village approximately 5 hours north of Bangalore. This is where we filmed our video and is the location of the Village Energy grid. The people in the village are so friendly and the kids are so happy and also really adorable!

This is one of the things kids do to entertain themselves in the village.

They don’t have a lot but they were all so happy.

This little guy was having a wash at the town tap, where everyone goes to get their water.

The old wash your dishes in the street routine.

You can be in a remote village in India and there are still kids watching other kids play with toys on youtube lol (parents know)

Village Energy are a great company making a huge difference in improving the lives of people in rural communities as well as providing much-needed jobs.

Traditional village wear. Another happy local 🙂

Our production crew was amazing and so talented. It was a pleasure to work with such a great team. Manjesh – Lighting, Karthik – Camera Op, Josh – Director, Swami – Sound, Yadu Kumar – Drone (next image), Ganesh – Camera Assist.

Yadu Kumar our drone operator. A bloody good one too!
