An exclusive, French-inspired picnic is returning to the Gold Coast at a secret location on Saturday 4th September. Sound familière? Dîner en Blanc is back and we’re thrilled to announce that The Edit Suite is the official photography and videography supplier for the third time in a row! The innaugral event in 2017 at Jack Gordon Park in Main Beach attracted over 1000 guest who came together to feast under a beautiful sky, inspired by the scenery and the history of the location. The event was last held in 2018 at the Gold Coast Turf Club with the iconic skyline as the backdrop to one side and the equally iconic hinterland on the other.

The 30-year old concept originated in France when a clever man by the name of François Pasquier conceptualized and brought to life a high-end gathering of people all dressed in white. Dîner en Blanc started out as an ‘under wraps’ alfresco dining experience for members only and has since transformed into a global spectacle taking place in many cities around the world including New York, Montreal, Toronto, Washington DC, Sydney, Taipei, Buenos Aires and Mexico City. Since then, previous attendees (plus people who missed out on tickets) have been patiently awaiting it’s return!

The Edit Suite is well-versed on the Dîner en Blanc celebration so, we thought we’d give all the first-timers out there a little rundown on the event. The first thing to note is the tradition of all-white attire remains the same since the event’s original conception. This is crucial to the event’s aesthetically pleasing vibe so start planning your outfit around this criteria and remember, cream does not count as white. Attendees must bring along their whole picnic kit including tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery, and napkins (white of course). Pre-made food hampers are available to purchase but if you have specific picnic must-haves, you can provide your own food. Guests will meet at a pre-arranged meeting point before eagerly travelling to the surprise location via organised transport. Once everyone’s arrived at the venue and settled into their spot, the live entertainment and festivities will begin including the all-important serviette wave, signifying the commencement of dinner and the lighting of the sparkler to signify the opening of the dance floor. There’s always amazing live music acts and guests are encouraged to dance like no one is watching 🙂 We’ll be there to capture it all, so don’t forget to smile while you dance!
